I have little use for modern country music. I grew up listening to hard rock and hair metal, so basically what they're doing is trying to recreate power ballads with some twang. They were better the first time.
Did you get a chance to see some good shows? Saw a Who show that when Daltry screamed in "Won't Get Fooled Again", you actually went backward in your seat! Saw most everyone except Rolling Stones and Led Zepplin. Great times!
I saw a lot of shows in the 80s and 90s, pretty much everyone in those genres. Last show I saw though was the Christian group We the Kingdom. They put on a great show and it was nice and intimate, since they basically cut our Civic Center in half, set them right in the center.
