The space betwixt and between
That's sort of where I am right now - how can I be most useful to the cause?
If you’re fighting a war, soldiers who have given up on the fight don’t do you a whole lot of good.
Here’s the rub: we are in a war and just don’t know it, perhaps because it hasn’t hit home for all of us yet. Lord knows I’m not the biggest fan of Donald Trump out there, but I think he had a point when he Tweeted a meme that said, “In reality, they’re not after me - they’re after you. I’m just in the way.”
So he gets an indictment for actions that arguably are stupid (the criminality of which will be decided in court) but no less moronic than, say, bragging on video about how one got a prosecutor fired in another country or it being discovered that a government appointee had a (vulnerable to hackers) private server for work-related correspondence. In the case of the latter two, surely the argument will be that it’s “old news” or that the statute of limitations has expired.
But that’s not my main point today. Sadly, we’ve learned by now that the corruption is baked into the cake so we live our lives accordingly. The situation reminds me of an old John Cougar Mellencamp ditty called The Authority Song:
They like to get you in a compromising position
Well, they like to get you there and smile in your face
Yeah, they think they're so cute when they got you in that condition
But I think it's a total disgrace
And I say
I fight authority, authority always wins
Well, I fight authority, authority always wins
Well, I've been doing it since I was a young kid
And I come out grinnin'
Well, I fight authority, authority always wins
The point is those of us who care about this concept we call a Constitutional America are all trying to hit the sweet spot between making the necessary change and getting in trouble doing it. Think of the J6 protestors and how many of them are rotting in jail on trumped-up (no pun intended) charges because they went too far and authority won. I didn’t say authority was right or just in this case, but so far authority has won - particularly when you compare the situation to the 200-plus who were arrested at Donald Trump’s inauguration who not only had charges dropped but then got a court-sanctioned payday years later.
Initially when I drafted out this post, I wrote of “dead soldiers.” That was somewhat rhetorical and the finality was a little much for the tone so I decided to change the lede. Yet the avoidance of dead soldiers may not necessarily be the case in the future if things continue to devolve. Indeed, there may be a time when the fight for freedom demands that sort of sacrifice but fortunately we’re not there yet and if we play things correctly we may be able to avoid it, hitting the sweet spot we desire.
I don’t think, though, that we are at the state of play where we were back in our nation’s early days when 1/3 of Americans were loyal to the Crown, 1/3 supported independence, and 1/3 didn’t care because they were just trying to survive. Those who really care and those who are trying to survive still have the upper hand in today’s America, but the propagandists would have you think that our side is a tiny minority.
I think what pisses off the elites most, though, is living our lives in a traditional manner: particularly the acts of going to a Bible-believing church and sacrificing as required to either homeschool our children or at the very least send them to a religious-based school that instills Scriptural values. Not bowing to the Rainbow Mafia and participating in any Pride Month festivities (unless it’s to celebrate my particular version, such as this example) also infuriates them to no end.
From the start with this Substack, its guiding light and North Star has been that as expressed in the mission statement: “my job is to turn that rocky, thorny, and trod-upon soil into ground receptive to the missionary's seed, just like in Matthew 13.” If I play the missionary role, that’s an added bonus, but I’m trying to create the conditions for the missionary’s work to best thrive.
A nation that has two sets of laws and standards: one for those who are annointed as an elite caste, and another lower tier for those who follow a more traditional path, is some treacherous and rocky ground indeed. But I’m going to use my talents to make it fertile nonetheless.
We are in a particularly sticky situation. If you read the Declaration and insert Biden for King George, what is the difference? And remember that the pointing out of the atrocities committed against them was why they decided on a full blown revolt! Is that what we are being egged into? So Martial Law can be declared? People are saying we'll win in the next election. Not if all the rules put in place and blatant manipulation to win the 2020 and2022 elections are still there!
I heard 29 MILLION are not going to comply with the new ATF rule about the equipment to enhance pistols. Is a mass peaceful protest where people just agree not to comply anymore the answer?
