Hopefully many of you are familiar with iVoterGuide. If you’re in the know, you’ll know that state and federal (sometimes local) candidates are vetted by volunteer judges who evaluate the candidates using several different factors.
(In the spirit of full disclosure, I’ve been an iVoterGuide judge since 2018; however, I did not participate in the judging of Delaware candidates. Most of my work has been in Midwest states.)
Today I got my Delaware guide for the Republican candidates and, sadly, we’re only doing federal candidates this year, perhaps because of the way local races have shaken out - we only have one contested GOP primary in a state race. (However, I’m taking up a little of that slack for state and local candidates since I base some of my evaluations on the techniques I’ve learned.) And because our Republican Senate candidate, Eric Hansen, is unopposed, there’s no evaluation of him yet. (I think I know how I would score him, but these guys are great at research I don’t even get to.)
But I found it interesting that the House race between Donyale Hall and John Whalen III was evaluated pretty much as I would have. (Eventually they will add the other candidates, although I can pretty much guarantee you that the Democrat will be liberal.) Because most Christian voters (their target audience) are Republican, they spend the spring and early summer on primary races for the GOP and then evaluate remaining candidates in the late summer.
Now the great thing about my having reach beyond Delaware is that there’s a good chance they have scored the candidates in your state, and in many states (including ones I’ve done) they go down to the local legislative races.
So I’m doing this quick post today just to alert you to this resource. “Find out which candidates on your ballot really stand for your biblical values,” they say, and I’m pleased to give them the help that I do.
