Will the First State languish or prosper?
Greetings from the top-performing Trump district in the state of Delaware - House District 40 had the highest percentage of Trump voters in the First State.
Unfortunately, that was about the extent of success for Republicans in the First State. It’s not that I figured that Donald Trump would carry Delaware, but I was hoping for a better performance down the ticket. None of the GOP statewide candidates finished within 10% of their Democrat opponents.
Even worse, the Democrats picked up the House seat Mike Ramone vacated to run for Governor, so they added to their advantage there. (The race in District 20 is too close to call right now, though. But a best case is that Republicans remain at 15 seats.) Not only that, the Democrats are primed to pick up their first seat in the County Council in awhile, as incumbent Mark Schaeffer lost to Jane Gruenebaum.
So it appears that Delaware voters are satisfied with being in a recession, one I’m trying hard not to participate in. But this just means I have to work harder, doesn’t it?

LOTTA work here in Washington. The jerk who won as governor was charged with malfeasance in 2021 while Attorney General. Should have been immediate impeachment but demorats are the majority in Legislature. State law say it bars him from public office FOREVER! No one will prosecute and Sec. of State certified him for election. How he will be bonded is a good question.
